Have you ever felt lost in a multitude of spiritual teachings, each claiming to be the ultimate truth?
Shining a light on modern wisdom can easily be overwhelming, because there are as many paths as individual expressions. If my path crosses with another’s path, we might be able to find a common understanding. We resonate on the same wavelength, as they say.
But there are also many paths that don’t cross. Separation and polarization has grown, in the last years. Especially in the spiritual community, it seems that there is a split between different belief systems.
One thing that stops people from coming together is when they don’t try to come together anymore. They’ve decided that agreement is impossible and have therefore withdrawn into their own worlds.
I believe that to come together, we need to realize an underlying truth that connects us. I call this a fundamental truth that we’ve all got in common, but that nobody owns. We can only strive to align with that fundamental truth.
We find this truth by peeling away layers of myths and stories. Each time we see through a belief system, we get in touch with a deeper truth. This process is facilitated through a method I refer to as Verbal Dancing, which consists of three key steps:
- Expanding by questioning beliefs: broaden our understanding and expand our consciousness.
- Taking a breath: digest new insights and prepare for integration.
- Finding a new landing spot: a deeper truth.
Verbal Dancing can be applied to conventional knowledge and teachings, but also to specific situations.
Many have forgotten that all paths lead to the same source. If that is the case, the path becomes an attachment rather than a way to align with a fundamental truth.
My creative work invites you to question any beliefs that hold you back.
